How to use the Learning Management System

This guide will walk you through the new LMS features, how to create training modules and courses, assign them to your team, and pull reports.

Getting Started

To create and manage training courses, go to the Training Manager. Please keep in mind that only users with the right permissions and assigned locations can create and assign training.

Creating a Module

Before building a course, you’ll need to create at least one module. When creating a module, you can give it a name and description. You can also add a tag if needed—for example, tagging a food safety module for kitchen staff.

Once named, you can begin adding content. This can include content blocks, videos, and questions. You can format text with lists, headings, and other options. As you build, a mobile preview will appear on the right-hand side so you can see what the employee experience will look like.

For videos, you can either paste a link (such as from YouTube or Vimeo) or upload a video directly. You can also require users to watch the full video before moving on.

Modules can include questions as well. Choose from single choice, multiple choice, true/false, or text responses. You have the option to set conditions, such as requiring a correct answer to proceed or showing hints if an answer is incorrect.

Once you’ve added all your content and steps, click Finish Editing to save the module.

Creating a Course

Once your modules are ready, you can build a course. Add a course name, description, and an optional tag. Then, select the modules you want to include and arrange them to create a learning pathway.

There are also several course settings available, including general options, scoring preferences, and completion/due dates.

When you’re happy with everything, finish editing and save the course.

Assigning the Course

Courses are assigned within the Training Manager. You can assign courses to individual users, work areas (such as front-of-house or back-of-house), or specific locations and regions.

Once assigned, employees will receive a notification. The course will appear on their dashboard, ready to begin.

Tracking Progress

To track training progress, go to the People tab to view completion statuses. You can see who has completed training, who is in progress, and who is overdue.

For more detailed insights, go to Reports > Training. You can filter results by location or work area to see how teams are performing.
