Managing opening hours

This article explains how to manage Opening Hours for your locations, how to set Operating Hours for your location/s, and how to configure job schedules to align with your venue’s opening and closing times.

Using Opening Hours ensures that tasks are completed before operations begin or after they end, helping your teams stay ahead of daily routines. It reduces the need for manual scheduling by automating due times based on when your venue opens and closes. This improves consistency and efficiency across locations while still allowing for location-specific flexibility and standardization.

The following is covered in this article:

📍 What are opening hours?

Opening Hours define the times your venue is open for operation each day. These hours can be customized for each location and used to calculate job due times more intelligently — such as setting a task to be due 2 hours before opening, at opening, at closing, or 1 hour after closing.

🔧 How to set or edit opening hours

Only users with the "Regional Manager" or "Full Administrator" permissions can manage opening hours.

Steps:

Go to your Locations or follow the steps below:

  1. When logged in to Operandio, click your profile image in the top right corner of the main navigation
  2. Select Settings in the dropdown menu
  3. Navigate to the Locations tab

Once you see the list of locations,

  1. Select the location you want to configure, by clicking the overflow menu (three dots) on the right of the location card and selecting "Edit"
  2. Under the Opening hours tab:
    • Use the toggles to enable specific days of the week that the location is open
    • Set Open and Close times for each active day
  3. (Optional) Use Copy From Another Location to replicate hours from an existing venue

📅 How to create schedules using opening hours

The updated Schedule Editor in the Job Manager now supports dynamic due times that align with your venue’s opening hours.

You can now:

  • Set a job to be due X hours before or after opening/closing
  • Set a job to be due exactly at open or close time
  • Automatically calculate job deadlines when jobs are generated

For example, if a venue opens at 9:00 AM, and a job is set to be due 1 hour before opening, the due time will automatically be set to 8:00 AM on the scheduled day. If the job is set to be due at open, it will be due exactly at 9:00 AM.
